Maribeth graduated with Honors from the University of Cincinnati, College of DAAP – School of Architecture and Interior Design with a Bachelor of Science in Design. For more than 25 years, Maribeth has designed Interiors for Entrepreneurial Start-up Companies, Independent and Chain Retail Stores, Regional Restaurants, Hospitality Groups, and Museum Exhibits. Each design program adapts to the strategic business goals ranging from varied levels of Prototype Blue-Sky Concepts in Environments Design, Strategic to Roll-out Design Planning, and Visual Systems (Display or Decor). As the Principal and Design Director of Studio Mantra, Maribeth’s intensive design training, breadth of capabilities and high-level involvement – from start to finish – allows for the strategic thinking, creative exploration, design development and detail implementation to become a streamlined, solution driven design process.
Her design experience began as an Environments Designer for Fitch (USA and UK) where Maribeth worked with multi-disciplinary teams for National and International Clients (Blockbuster Entertainment, Hush Puppies, VF Corporation, Thermos Products, Aurrera Mexico Stores & Jelmoli Department Stores). She then joined Chute Gerdeman as a Senior Designer and Studio Creative Director on design programs for National Retail Corporations (Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, Polo Sport, G.H Bass, Target, Stride Rite, Wolverine Worldwide), shop concept programs (Walmart) as well as regional restaurants (Donatos Pizza, Cup O’ Joe, Staufs Coffee Roasters) and organizations (American Motorcycle Hall of Fame). Her Design Direction and Teamwork were integral in receiving various Design Industry Awards Retail and Restaurant Designs, including Retail Design & Display Store of the Year for Kiva Day Spa in Chicago, Illinois and various “Stores of the Year” book publications.
